The decorations are packed away for another year. Instead of resolutions I thought I would list a few things that I am both grateful and thankful for. This is by no means an exhaustive list and it goes without saying how important my family is to me. My list includes being lucky enough, in these difficult times, to have stimulating employment along with some wonderful colleagues who can make a Monday morning worthwhile. (I reserve the right to review this thought at 6.30 am tomorrow, after two weeks off work). Employment enables me to have a roof over my head, warmth, and plenty to eat, which many in this world do not benefit from. I am also supremely grateful to have access to clean water with a means to bathe at will, heat I can do without but no heated water and I am positively crazy. But most of all with a predominantly female family I am truly grateful that the education of women and girls is not an anathema in this country.
Well it was a Play doh type of Christmas, with lots of time for rest and recuperation and wearing your best fancy dress at the dinner table! I had planned pretty well, apart from the absence of cranberry sauce, but at least someone had the opportunity to exercise their new Ugg boots in search of said condiment on Christmas morning. Like many of you the lurgy visited our house, incredible how it affected each of us in such different ways. I swear Udos oil, probiotics, multi-vitamins and copious amounts of alcohol saved me from its worse vestiges. So as expected I am tardy with posting a Christmas review and quite late with my New Year wishes but hell it is a whole new year and I am going to take it as it comes.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and an even better 2013 xxx
