The decorations are packed away for another year. Instead of resolutions I thought I would list a few things that I am both grateful and thankful for. This is by no means an exhaustive list and it goes without saying how important my family is to me. My list includes being lucky enough, in these difficult times, to have stimulating employment along with some wonderful colleagues who can make a Monday morning worthwhile. (I reserve the right to review this thought at 6.30 am tomorrow, after two weeks off work). Employment enables me to have a roof over my head, warmth, and plenty to eat, which many in this world do not benefit from. I am also supremely grateful to have access to clean water with a means to bathe at will, heat I can do without but no heated water and I am positively crazy. But most of all with a predominantly female family I am truly grateful that the education of women and girls is not an anathema in this country.
So dear readers what are you grateful for?
Have a wonderful week xxx
We are very lucky indeed, our education comes freely whatever gender we are, some girls/women die for that right...I remind my girls that when they don't want to go to school! :) x
ReplyDeleteyes your right we do have a lot to be grateful for. Really our essential needs are all covered and we can put our spare time to our hobbies and pusuits, we are indeed lucky! have a good week, Heather x
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm very grateful that we still have the NHS.
ReplyDeleteI second that. The recent health debate in America was a true eye-opener and whilst it may not be perfect we are very lucky indeed.
DeleteI am great full and agree with a lot already said here....But for me today, I am great-full for feeling a teeny bit better!! The NHS is some thing to be proud of!
ReplyDeleteSending kind thoughts, Maria x
They are lovely things to be grateful for. Sometimes I think we forget how fortunate we are.

Looks like I'm grateful for many of the same things you are ... hot water, and free, universal education, universal suffrage too, and the love and company of family, friends, and even pets. We are lucky to live in the part of the world that we do.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Hi,my things to be grateful for: my eyes to see all the joyful things in this lovely world and the invention of the computer so that I can continue to blog along with all of my fellow likees!!LOADS more, too much to mention!!Warm regards Pam.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for the choices I have and for healthy relationships. And for my job - but this has been a long week xo
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of things...Right now, I'm reading a book that includes part f the story of the Suffragettes. I am grateul that women (and men) suffered and were tortured and died so that I have the right to vote. That's why (when I was in the UK at least) I always always voted - even if it was a spoiled paper. BECAUSE I COULD!
