February ...
I always sail through January, I expect it is because of the buoyancy effect of Christmas. Now February is a completely different matter, it always feels as though the FTSE 100 has taken a nose dive in my head. Preemptive healthy eating and exercise is having no effect so I guess I will just have to hang on until March when normal service will resume in my brain. In the meantime, I found this via A Quiet Corner's blog and thought it to be an apt approach for me this month, given both my mood and my love of bright lipstick.

Now that is a *good* idea!
ReplyDeleteA simple pick me up!
DeleteI love this. I'm a red lipstick wearer and would recommend it to anyone to give you a daily boost. I can't go out without it as I don't feel properly dressed. Sad I know.
ReplyDeleteI recently found my 'perfect' red, a real pep me up.
DeleteI'm a bright pink lipstick girl, always cheers me up! :) x
ReplyDeleteIt's such a simple treat isn't it?
DeleteGreat idea, must raid the make up bag tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
DeleteI was fine through the first three quaters of January then fell at the last post as you read - thank you for your supportive comment.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine started wearing incredibly red lipstick to boost her morale years ago & now it is her signature, I can't imagine her without it.
I've never been much of a lipstick wearer but recently started using tinted moisturier ( not liking foundation ) and love it. It calms my normally red face a lot !
Glad you found something cheery too.
DeleteOh good luck through February - I always used to suffer a real 'down' in February when we lived in England but this year, I'm hoping the Andalusian sunshine will keep me buoyed up. So far so good...sadly, red lipstick does nothing for me whatsoever but maybe I'll paint my toenails red instead.
ReplyDeleteAxxx
Your sunshine sounds wonderful, enjoy.
DeleteGreat idea for a boost. Luckily I have my birthday in February to help me through to March!
ReplyDeleteLucky you, it's good to have something nice to look forward to.
DeleteGreat words to live by! At least Feb is a short month :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday,
xx
Thank goodness.
DeleteSound advice indeed. I loathe January but usually perk up in February as it's the month of my birthday and other distractions like Valentine's day and the half term holiday. Then I take a nosedive in March. I will buy a new red lipstick in March!
ReplyDeleteGillian x
Go for it, it will help to make you feel chipper.
DeleteHi ALoadofOldTat
ReplyDeleteI just wouldn't suit a red lipstick or would I? Maybe it is time to try something new. I used to wear red when I was in my 20's but that was the 80's and red was big then. :) I have now mellowed to a pale pink :):) Maybe that speaks volumes :):)
You certainly have given me something to think about.
Hope February doesn't wear you down too much my dear. Keep applying the lippie :)
God bless.
How about a nice shade of fuchsia, combining both pink with a little kick to it.
DeleteLove a red lipstick. Feel naked without it!
ReplyDeleteGot myself a new one this week, feeling very glam.
DeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteI love red lipstick too but I can't wear it...due to my own obsession. My Mum used to say red lipsticks are for tarts(LOL!)and stupid me that stuck in my mind and I just don't feel right wearing it.
so daft!
February is a heavy pull for me too....I so long for spring.
keep well
Amanda :-)
It's funny the things we hold onto from the past. Hang in there.
DeleteOnly seven days to go!
ReplyDeleteI was selling cake at a community event yesterday and I spoke to a young mother wearing the most vibrant red lipstick and a cheery aran knit hat. She looked absolutely stunning and just about made my day.
Glad to hear it.
