And we all have to pull together! This includes shopping at Aldi and Lidl which isn't difficult when the prices are so low and Aldi do a nice French red! I'm in it for the long haul, which is not easy when you have the attention span of a gnat and hands that money seem to repel. However I have made one very sensible decision, not to have the kitchen renovation attempted until after Christmas. Any decisions before the festivities tend to be repented for many years to come. I should know because this time round, despite having spent considerable sums before, we will require electrics, plumbing and plastering (most likely flooring too). Don't expect a big reveal anytime soon, unless my lottery numbers come up. Compost crumble and windfall apple pies have also been on the menu, I love the seasonal change in the fruit offerings at this time of year. With a strict spending regime comes little pleasures such as potting up our rosemary plants in Poundland compost and a good library book, not too challenging but most enjoyable all the same. It's at times like these that you realise what a brain washed consumer you have become and how hard this habit is to break. I have therefore become even more addicted to Pinterest, I love the term 'Compound Pinterest' - all the money you save by pinning and not buying or not having the time to shop because you are pinning.
Sort of sums me up right now!
Have a wonderful week xxx
I like your notion of compound interest. It is so true.
ReplyDeletePlease do.
DeleteSounds like a very sensible approach! I do love your 'Compound Pinterest' term...I must look for you there, I'm enjoying pinning a bit myself these days. Axxx
ReplyDeleteFound it on Pinterest!
DeleteI'm hoping that a spot of paint might make it feel like new - with a major helping of imagination. If only they sold that in Lidl...which I love, as it happens.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish! A major criteria for the next kitchen is its paint ability (if there is such a term). I am not going though this again, the upheaval is too much to bear.
DeleteI don't look on pintrest because I would see lots of things that I must go out and buy!!!! I have about half a dozen blogs that I follow and that's bad enough ,seeing all your lovely homes full of gorgeous stuff, the number 11 just popped into my head if you do the lottery!!! Kind regards Pam.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh, with your lottery number. Just remember there are yukky bits we tend not to share!
DeleteCompound Pinterest ... I like it :)
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping your numbers come up :)
Someone very sensible suggested to me that he preferred to make his own luck in life.
DeleteThe pinterest comment made me giggle!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the saving up, it will all be so very worth it in the end.

Yes I can't wait.
DeleteI totally agree with the value of compound Pinterest - a girl has to her research! Claire xo
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteI've never subscribed to Pinterest, I know I would become addicted and I spend far too much time on the computer as it is. Hope the saving up goes well, my mum always used to tell me to look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had heard from your mum sooner! Pinterest is great for recipes and money saving tips too.
DeleteJohn wants a new toilet
ReplyDeleteYes Indeed, been there John. Nice shade of burgundy had to be endured for a while, but at least it wasn't avocado!
