Christmas wreath waiting to go on our front door.
Christmas cake ingredients from a few weeks back. Delia never lets me down, now all I have to do is slosh brandy from a great height, in my slapdash way and not Delia's of course. This year, for the first time, I shall be making my own marzipan from scratch, wish me luck!
Red roses just because.
A poinsettia because it seems more hardy than a cyclamen.
And finally a little fella waiting in the advent calendar.
Have a wonderful weekend xxx
Well, you have made a good start! We wont be decorating for a couple of weeks yet here.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colours in your photos. Have a great Advent xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful festive colours and do let us know how you get on with the marzipan.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much colour in your photos. What a lovely way to welcome in advent. x
ReplyDeleteI think I need a bit of early brightness this year. Normally we put the tree and the wreath up quite late, the weekend before Christmas day (deferred gratification and all that) but this year I'm thinking maybe I can sneak in some sparkles and colour a bit earlier than is our normal practice. If not I might sink under these grey mornings.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! The cake ingredients look especially lush! I was planning making ours, but then went to my daughter's school Christmas Market and won a hamper (I never win anything usually!) Now I feel it would be greedy to make a cake too, but I love the whole rigmarole. Maybe we should just eat the cake that came in the hamper before Christmas?!

It's definitely looking a lot like Christmas! Here in Spain, a Poinsettia is absolutely necessary - it's name is 'Flor de Navidad' - or Christmas Flower. I shall be getting one very soon. Axxx
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the marzipan - love that stuff! And home made must be especially delicious...
