Any fool can make something complicated. It takes a genius to make it simple." - Woody Guthrie

Earth Hour ...

Every year we take part in Earth Hour, turning off all appliances and taking the opportunity to reconnect by (dusty) candle-light.  Visitors beware, you will be plunged into darkness.  Understandably, this was a conscious effort to consider the environment and certainly not the trial being experienced by others in the UK who are without power due to the dreadful weather.  This year a game of 'Bananagrams' added to our fun.  Simple rules and very portable.

Happy weekend to you all especially my new followers, who I promise I will get round to introducing when I have a little more time.

Not being thrifty ...

The other week whilst on my annual pilgrimage to the dentist in Deal, I decided to treat myself to a rather expensive loaf of seeded bread from 'the bake house'.   I am particularly taken with their tartlets, one of which I snaffled for my lunch that very day with a side-order of roadside weeds or what others might call rocket.  For the price of this loaf I would, indeed, have purchased two expensive bags of flour; equivalent to five loaves of bread.  However, this loaf was mighty good, so good that not a crumb was wasted and I find myself craving another but not yet able to justify the 40 minutes worth of petrol it would take to carry this baby back to mama.  You will no doubt realise that I am looking forward to my next dental appointment in a way I would never before have imagined.
