A convert ...

Risotto is one of my favourite meals but not so my husband, who always said 'it's too creamy'.  So I never really make it.  However the inspired addition of broad beans, mushrooms and bacon made all the difference and so we have enjoyed risotto the last couple of Saturday evenings.  Not very beautiful to look at but tasty and oh so simple to make.

Are there any favourite dishes that you don't bother to cook because your partner doesn't like them or do you just say hang it all and carry on regardless?

I shouldn't complain he eats most things even parsnips but that's another story.

  1. I love risotto too - it's usually my husband who makes it though and he prefers seafood with the addition of squid which I am not so keen on.

    1. I think we are united on squid. Definitely an acquired taste.

  2. Risotto is one of my faves too, fortunately we both love it. And if you only use stock/wine, and minimal grated cheese, and don't add butter at the end (sacrebleu!!) it shouldn't be too creamy though I couldn't bear it myself!! And you know you can put anything in a risotto! Lxx

  3. Whenever I cook risotto I wonder why I don't do it more often - make mine from squash; peas; and lemon.

Normally the old man will eat anything, but has a thing about salads with fruit in - something to do with winter salad of cabbage and raisins at school. Won't be making that then.
