Living ...

Earl Street in Maidstone offers the regular range of chain restaurants found in most towns.  However nestled amongst the usual suspects with their standard offering is the Living Cafe.  Service is pleasant and friendly with a hearty breakfast/brunch menu on offer. I am partial to the bowl food, served with chunky chips or salad, if you are greedy like me you can have both.  On one occasion I enjoyed a chicken and butternut squash curry, yes with chips!  Each time I've been set up for the day, not needing to eat an evening meal.  Long live the independent I say.

.
As you can see, they also rock a mean church chair.

  1. Chips are always a good test of an eatery, I think... the cakes sound good too... love a church chair :)

    1. Yes I too prefer an independent if at all possible. Simple, individual interiors and fresh, local ingredients, perfect.

    1. I've never tried the cakes. It's funny for someone with a sweet tooth that I always go for the savouries when I'm out.

  5. That chair - I want one (or several)!
I am greedy too. The way I see it is, eating out is a treat so might as well go for it ;)
