It's just a question of balance ...

No resolutions here, just more of the same e.g. a little of what you fancy does you good.  A wonderful Christmas and New Year has been enjoyed, with plenty of good food and the "odd" alcoholic tipple.   In past years you would have found me in doors for days on end but this year every opportunity was found for a brisk walk even when it was tipping down.  This has left me both lighter and refreshed for my return to work tomorrow, whilst pondering how I can get more movement into what is a sedentary working life.  Wish me luck.

  1. Happy New Year and good luck with the moving whilst working aim. I'm sure you'll come up with a plan. I need to get back to walking outdoors every day. Feel as if I've been stuck in the kitchen for weeks. Come to think of it, I have been stuck in the kitchen for weeks.

  4. New Year Greetings! It makes so much difference to get out. I took to going out in the evening for a walk over the holidays if we didn't manage an outing. Plenty of interesting Christmas trees to see in windows, the robins stil singing at dusk, the oddness of fewer cars on the streets. it did the trick.

    1. I love seeing the twinkling lights too, but negotiating selfish dog owner leftovers drives me indoors in the evenings.

  5. I'm after a pedometer. I lost my old one, but the challenge of reaching 10,000 steps (or whatever your goal is) acts as a pretty good motivator.
    Happy New Year.

    1. I need a reliable one, my freebee pedometer resets itself so I've no idea how many steps taken.

  6. I'm another in need of a pedometer ... my life is far too sedentary and something must be done. So good luck to you and to all of us in the same situation. And Happy New Year!
