New Year ...

Bye, bye Christmas tree you served us well.

A restful Christmas and understated New Year, just how I like it, was what the doctor ordered.

The decorations are packed away for another year, and the tea lights lit to bring the festivities to a close.

I may have mentioned before that I'm not one for New Year resolutions, believing change can be made at any point in the year.

My major and extremely successful declutter in September went under the radar.  Budgeting is under control, savings earmarked for essential purchases and long term goals.  No spending on Winter clothing assisted by cash gifts, a wonderfully fluffy white bathrobe and the warmest track pants.  So I'm pretty much set up for 2016.

The food budget is the last bastion, introduced last year, I can't believe I just said that, I'm so ashamed.

No inessential purchases already in place and now a real tight food budget should be enough to be getting along with.

Wish me luck.

Here's to a happy, productive 2016.
